Rules for consultation of documents

To protect our collection of precious and rare documents and also provide a pleasant environment to the volunteers and users of the Centre, all users to our consultation room must follow the following rules:

  • Related materials for research to be consulted on-site; documents from our collection are not loaned out.
  • No personal access to the shelves.
  • Upon arrival, to read and sign the rules for consultation of documents.
  • Leave personal effects (coat, bag, backpack, umbrella and any other belongings) in the lockers provided. You can bring in your wallet, keys, cell phone (silent mode) and laptop.
  • It is strictly forbidden to write on the documents examined, to fold or lean on them, to put them upside down, to stick post-it notes, to bookmark pages with post-it notes, paper clips or fasteners.
  • Prior approval must be obtained from the Centre if you wish to photograph any of the documents examined, for research purposes only.
  • All documents in its collection are protected by copyright. Also, the reproduction or distribution of these documents can only be done subject to certain conditions.
  • Drinking, eating and smoking are not permitted.
  • Please refrain from speaking and be courteous to staff, volunteers and other users.
  • Failure to follow any of the above instructions will result in access refusal to the consultation room.
